Herb Alwais - Biography

Herb Alwais - Biography

Herb Alwais' paintings are primarily beautiful impressionistic landscapes inspired by scenes and settings witnessed during travels in North America and Europe.  He paints en plein air and in the studio and uses acrylic paints.  He is fascinated by the interplay of color and light and loves the challenge of trying to capture and bring forth the feeling of calm and serenity that nature and the outdoors can elicit.  Herb Alwais has been painting the beauty of the Canadian Rockies, the Canadian Maritimes, the fascinating impressionistic landscapes of the American Southwest and New England.

Herb is a former Marine and retired businessman who has returned to his once youthful passion for painting.
